Frequently asked questions
Does My Tides need an internet connection?
No. All tide predictions, maps and place names are built into the app, so it works anywhere — even in airplane mode.
Why does the app ask for my location?
To show the tide station nearest to you. Your location stays on your device. You can also deny access and search for any place instead.
How accurate are the predictions?
Predictions come from tide-gauge harmonic constants where a gauge is nearby, and from a global ocean tide model elsewhere. They describe the astronomical tide; actual water levels can differ because of weather, storm surge and river flow. Never rely on the app alone for navigation or safety decisions.
How do I change the language?
Open Settings in the app and choose from 26 languages, or follow your device's language.
Is there a subscription?
No. My Tides is a one-time purchase with no ads, subscriptions or in-app purchases.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases are handled by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
